Chapter One

Our Story

Four years, countless passport stamps, one clean whiskey.

Portrait of David and Brittanie
The Silly Goose

The Silly Goose is a downtown Memphis cocktail bar with dim lights and a long cocktail list. It’s where, on a company night out, we had our first real conversation. Brittanie has the kind of energy that lights a room. David spent the rest of the night happily in her orbit.

Brittanie ordered her usual: a dirty martini. David asked for a whiskey, neat. Then Brittanie, doing what Brittanie does, marched back to the bar and ordered him a “clean whiskey.” The bartender, to his credit, asked how to make one. (It’s just a whiskey, neat.) The phrase stuck.

Four years, two continents, a passport full of stamps, and one very earnest proposal later (November 15, 2025, in which David forgot every word he’d rehearsed), here we are. The speech, he promises, is saved for the aisle.

The overall theme is GREAT GATSBY — art deco, a little sparkle, a little swagger. No pressure to lean in; the only rule is that it’s meant to be fun.

Chapter Four

Dress Code

Cocktail attire for an evening wedding. Lean art-deco if you like; it’s a bonus, never a requirement.

The Vibe

Cocktail, with a wink

Come as you’d dress for any evening cocktail wedding. If you’d like to lean art-deco, the Flourish list below is your invitation, not a homework assignment.

Suggested palette
  • I.
    Ladies
Cocktail or floor-length. Beading and a little sparkle always right.
  • II.
    Gentlemen
Suits, tuxedos, or a sharp dinner jacket.
  • III.
    Shoes
The ceremony is in our backyard, mostly hardscape underfoot. Block heels and flats will thank you.
  • IV.
    Flourish
Feathers, fringe, long gloves, a pocket watch, drop waists, beading, anything art-deco. Lean in if you like; truly no pressure.
  • V.
    Avoid
A small ask: skip ivory, champagne, and anything that photographs as white.

Frequently Asked

Are children welcome?

Absolutely. Children are welcome. Bring the whole crew; we’ve got the space for everyone to wander and enjoy the space.

Can I bring a plus-one?

Yes. Please. Bring whoever makes the night better for you. No need to check with us; just add them to your RSVP so we've got the right headcount.

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Please note it on your RSVP. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergy considerations. We'll make sure that's accounted for with our catering trucks.

Is the ceremony outdoors?

Yes. The ceremony is in our backyard at 7:00 PM, timed for the cool of evening. Shade and misters run through cocktails to keep everyone comfortable.

Gifts and registry?

No gifts, please. Truly. Your presence is the only present we're after. If you really want to, a note of love or a favorite memory of us is worth more than anything wrapped. There’ll be a custom board at the wedding made for exactly that. Sign it, write a note, leave us anything.

How do I get there and back?

We've hired a shuttle that runs all evening between the Holiday Inn room block (in El Dorado Hills Town Center) and our home. Hop on and off at your pace. No driving required.

Where do I park?

Parking is at Silva Valley Elementary School, 3001 Golden Eagle Ln, El Dorado Hills, CA 95762. A short walk to the house, with golf carts ferrying guests for easy transit.

Where should I stay?

Our room block is at the Holiday Inn, 4360 Town Center Blvd, El Dorado Hills, CA. Use code BKW by June 4, 2026 for the group rate (≈ $170 / night). Any hotel in the area works. The shuttle leaves from the Holiday Inn, though, so it’s the easiest option.
